How often do you need an eye exam?
Infants.
Infants should have their first eye exam between 6-9 months.
Preschoolers.
Children should have at least one exam between the ages of 2-5 years.
Children.
Annual eye exams are recommended for children ages 6-19 years.
Adults.
Adults ages 20-64 should have an exam every 2 years. Adults over 65 should have annual exams.
Everyone’s eyes are unique. Based on exam findings and risk factors, your optometrist may suggest more frequent examinations than the above recommendations.
